Atlas notes

Seiko never reissued the 6105, the asymmetric crown guard diver that Martin Sheen wore through most of Apocalypse Now, so the “Captain Willard” slot in the market has been filled by homage builders for twenty years. Steeldive’s SD1970 is the current budget entry, a 43.8mm steel case shaped around that same lopsided crown guard, priced at $139 to $149 depending on strap.

The case is large for the genre: 43.8mm across, though the lug to lug comes in at a comparatively tight 46.8mm, which is the 6105 shape’s real trick. The crown guard eats the width, not the length, so it can wear shorter than the diameter suggests. On top sits a 120 click ceramic bezel and AR coated sapphire, both ahead of what most watches under $150 ship with. Water resistance is rated to 200 meters, a drop from the 300m Steeldive manages on its own SD1953 at a near identical price, and the NH35 inside carries the same 41 hour power reserve Steeldive publishes across its range. No hacking claim, no accuracy spec. Judge the movement as a reliable engine, not a showpiece.

The six position micro adjust clasp on the steel bracelet is a genuine upgrade over the three hole stamped clasps that used to ship on Steeldive’s cheaper models, and it is worth seeking out the V2 listing specifically if that detail matters to you. What you give up against the SD1953 is a third of the depth rating for a case shape that, frankly, more people will find odd on the wrist than handsome.

I would still buy this one. The 6105 silhouette is not available anywhere near this price from a brand with a real storefront and a two year warranty, and 200 meters is more than any owner will test. If the asymmetric case is not to your taste, the SD1953 next door does a more conventional job for the same money. If it is, this is the cheapest honest way into it.
