Atlas notes

The AquaSport II is the diver for people who read a big diver’s lug-to-lug figure and winced. It is 40mm across, 46mm lug to lug and 13.4mm thick with the crystal, which puts it on a wrist the way a small-wristed buyer hopes a diver will.

Circula’s own page gives a 20 ATM rating, a slightly curved sapphire with double anti-reflective coating, and quick-change fitting on both the rubber and the Beads of Rice bracelet. Fine. The 20mm lugs mean strap hunting is easy.

The weak point is the movement. The Sellita SW200-1 is a proven workhorse, but the maker states a minimum of 38 hours and typically 41. Leave it in the drawer from Friday evening and it has stopped by Sunday night. Circula states the movement is additionally hand-windable, so a few turns of the crown restarts it. The clasp is a safety clasp with fine adjustment in 3 positions.

The price is the argument. Listed at $850, marked down from $940, it sits in the same room as the Seiko SPB143, which banks 70 hours. I think the AquaSport II earns a look for the fit alone, but at the money I would buy the Citizen NY0086 for well under half the money, or save up for the Seiko.
