Around $350 buys a dive watch that actually clears ISO 6425. Most of the shelf beside it is quietly hoping you never learn the difference.
Because that is the whole argument here. “200m water resistant” is a pressure claim any brand is free to print on a dial. ISO-compliant Diver’s is a testing regime: condensation, shock, magnetic resistance, strap attachment, legibility in the dark. Very few watches under $500 carry it. This one does, and that is why it takes the highest value sub-score anywhere in the Atlas.
The rest of the watch is quietly generous in ways the marketing never mentions. 42mm case, 20mm lugs that are drilled, a 60-click bezel, and a Miyota 8203 automatic beating at 21,600vph. Citizen does not publish a thickness, a lug-to-lug or a reserve figure anywhere in our verified source set, so those three rows above are blank rather than invented.
The catch is accuracy. The 8203 hacks, but it commonly leaves the box running fast. Serviceable rather than impressive, and a watchmaker will regulate it closer for a good deal less than the walk up to the next tier costs.
