Atlas notes

The integrated steel bracelet sports watch used to be a five figure conversation. Citizen turned it into a $400 one, and the Tsuyosa is the reason a Genta silhouette now shows up on wrists that never went near an auction house.

The case is 40mm of tonneau-shaped steel with a see-through back, a crown pushed down to 4 o’clock so it stays out of the way, and AR-coated sapphire over a sunray dial. Inside sits Citizen’s Caliber 8210, automatic with a hacking second hand, 21 jewels, rated at 40 hours by Citizen’s own EU site and 42 by its US one. That gap is small enough not to matter and honest enough to print rather than average away. Water resistance is 50 meters, a pool-and-rain number, not a dive number, which is worth knowing before you compare this to the diver’s watches sharing this price bracket.

Here is the cost. The Caliber 8210 is a workhorse, not a showpiece: no confirmed hand-winding in Citizen’s own specification, a loose +/-20 seconds a day accuracy claim, and a bracelet built as one integrated piece rather than something you swap onto a strap when you get bored of it. Citizen doesn’t publish a thickness or a lug to lug for this case, which the EU product page leaves out entirely, so take the “wears smaller than 40mm suggests” line you’ll read elsewhere as community consensus, not a manufacturer figure.

Against the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80, the obvious next step up, the Tsuyosa gives up finishing, accuracy, and water resistance for a price roughly half as much. I think that trade is the correct one for a first integrated bracelet and the wrong one once you already own something better. It is the watch that gets you into this category honestly, which counts for more than a spec sheet suggests.
