the value benchmark
The 40mm integrated steel watch that reset the value benchmark: a Powermatic 80 banking 80 hours, 10.9mm through the case, under $725 on the street.

Four years on, the PRX is still the watch that makes every integrated-steel rival stand up and explain itself. Three times the money buys what, exactly?
Tissot publishes the sheet without theatre. 40mm across, 10.9mm thick, 100m of water resistance, sapphire, and a Powermatic 80 ambling along at 21,600vph to bank an 80-hour reserve. Slow beat, long reserve. That is the trade, and Tissot took the half of it you actually use.
On the wrist those numbers perform the trick the whole genre is built on. The watch wears flatter and wider than 40mm suggests and slides under a cuff that a diver of the same diameter would catch on.
The bracelet is the argument. Brushed flat links, a butterfly clasp, no visible screws, and nobody else selling at this price is taking the job anything like this seriously. Then you sit down to size it and find the clasp has no micro-adjust. That is the cost ceiling showing through, and it is the first thing I would change.

Where to buy.
Affiliate links, and commissions never touch the score. Retail partners are not live yet, so until they are, this rail points at the manufacturer's own listing rather than an untracked link.
